Used Car Donation - Where Do You Begin?

By Daniel Gulberry

Despite seeming daunting and fairly complex, used car donation is a pretty straightforward process. Obviously you will need a car or truck that is no longer being used, and you are actually willing to donate to a charity group. Then you will need to think about a few things.

Is the vehicle in good condition? The last thing you want to have happen is give a decrepit vehicle to a group the helps disadvantaged people. They will be angry if it falls apart mid trip. You also do not want to donate a car if it needs extensive maintenance, or expensive repairs.

Who needs the car the most? This isn't an easy question to answer to yourself, but vital if you want your donation to do the most good. Why should I even bother? Because there are a lot of disadvantaged folk who could use a reliable vehicle. Besides, if you have one you no longer need, its just taking up space.

Finally the most important question. To whom should I give it? You've compiled your lists of charities that need a car from churches, to community outreach programs. But in the end you only have one vehicle, and you can only give it to one organizations regardless of how much they all need one. If you want to try to make an impact internationally, then give it to Greenpeace, or someone fighting international problems.

Not only can you donate a car to a charity organization, you can also donate a car to a person in need. With the current global recession in full swing, there are many folk who need a car to seek work, or people who have been foreclosed on. Also, in good or bad times, college students are always in need of a roadworthy vehicle.

University students can always use an operating vehicle if they do not already have one of their own. Or you could give it to a friend in need. Barring any of these you can also give it to a destitute person, whole families can live out of car if they have to.

Now, if by some chance donating out of the kindness of your heart doesn't motivate you, there are incentives. Some charities will give you cash. Government programs may also give you cash, or a tax credit. However giving out of the milk of human kindness and not seeking, or taking any recognition for the donation can make you feel good.

If you can't choose which charity organization is the most worthy, why not donate it to your city? One of the drains on the city's accounts is the cost of running errands around the city. This will help save the city money. This money can be put to other uses, such as schools. By doing this the whole community benefits from your car donation.

To whom you donate the vehicle to is totally up to you, just make sure that you check the shape of the car before you donate it. You definitely don't want to donate a vehicle that turns out to be a lemon. - 21396

How Do We Control The Teenage Driving Problem

By Nathan Lewit

Teenage driving cause huge problems for for parents worldwide as there are many incidents of teen mishaps and fatalities on the road of teenage driving. The necessary thing here to do is to try and understand the reasons for these accidents and bring in the necessary changes to prevent such mishaps in the future. The areas to focus on would be the reduction in risk exposure, modification of risk taking ability, and providing sufficient education to the teenager to improve their driving skills.

The change in law to increase the driving age from 16 to 18 years is not the solution to this problem. This will only impact the Automobile industry and its related service sectors. It will be a big blow to manufacturers, driving instructors, gas companies, and insurance agents. There will be a sharp drop in revenues for the manufacturers as well as the insurance agents due to the change of law.

Main reasons for the teen crashes are immaturity, risk taking behavior, lack of skills and non-adherence to safety rules. It is important to educate the teenagers about these driving and safety rules and ensure that they follow them in a disciplined manner. The parents should not hand over the car keys to their children till the time they avoid such manners and gain the necessary driving skills.

The teen fatality is found to occur on Fridays and weekends between 6 PM to 6 AM. Some of the reasons attributed to this are driving while intoxicated with alcohol, distractions on the road, and not wearing of seat belts.

The teens also don't follow the rules such as driving with parent or qualified trainer for first three months after obtaining their driving license, avoiding driving at midnight except for some situations, wearing seat belts, and avoiding usage of cell phones. The failure to follow the safety rules has been another reason for teen fatalities.

In order to reduce risk for their teen children the parents should also be a part of their driving skills learning program. The parents should partner with their child to teach them defensive driving techniques and driver safety rules. The parent should also share their own driving experiences with their children. This will help them become more mature and prepared to handle any adverse situations.

The teenagers risk taking behavior also needs to be modified. Due to hormonal influence and certain growth related patterns the teenagers tend to take certain unwanted risks. It is necessary for the parent to analyze this risk and make the teen aware of the consequence of this action. Once the teenager is aware of the problems that might occur they will show tendencies to avoid risk taking behavior.

It is important for teenagers to join the best driver education program. The onus lies on the parents to make their children join an authorized and certified driver education program which can help them develop their driving skills. The quality of the program and instructors approach is important for helping the teenager grasp the required driving knowledge. It is important to monitor the progress of the teenager on a daily basis. It is important to explain to the teenager that the driver program is just the beginning of their learning curve to become an expert driver. - 21396

By Sam Shaw

There have been many types of vehicles used for artistic expression in North America, but the practice has spread to other countries and continents including several Asian Countries. They came up with their own forms of art. A lot of the times you will see such works of art within nations that are experiencing some sort of conflict, or even war that has torn their country to shreds. This may be the reason for the existence of these works of art. They are known as Jingle Trucks because of the chains that hang off of them creating a sort of jingling sound.

These jingle trucks are commonly found in places like India and Afghanistan. They are heavily decorated with an assortment of bright colors and decorative items. They are quite commonly seen all over the place. Often the artist will also hang some pendants or other trinkets from the truck as well. You can find scenes from an entire tapestry all over just one truck.

It really is incredible when you get the chance to witness the sheer amount of artistic talent that goes into vehicles of this type.

The intrigue of these vehicles might be due to the fact that they are the only thing of color within the desolation of a place like Afghanistan. The pictures on these vehicles show wonderful scenes such as running water and lush grassland, and it is virtually nowhere to be seen in such a place. The colors on these vehicles are always bright stand out. This ensures that everyone around will want to see the artistic spectacle. They are truly a one of a kind phenomenon in that environment.

Sometimes it is thought that the artists are simply showing their hope for a future that may be unattainable. Nonetheless it is a hope for a land where everyone can live in peace. Is that not a wonderful thought?

Usually these jingle trucks show some kind of paradise. It is a sort of Promised Land in which everyone can live together peacefully without any sort of conflict or strife. The trucks usually display magnificent scenes such as lush grasslands, and anything that a person could possibly associate with peace. These are often symbols of hope just by having the pleasure of gazing upon them. If you have never seen one of these jingle trucks up close, then it is worth your while to go out of your way to experience it. There are many spots in which you can find pictures of these beauties.

There is not a lot of detail explaining the history of jingle trucks. Unless you get an opportunity to travel to Afghanistan, you may not have many chances to ask about them.

There is something about art on wheels that is not quite like anything else. It has the ability to constantly be on the go, to attract the attention of everyone around. It is possible to get small, toy size versions of a jingle truck.

If you do an internet search then you will easily find a place that sells these miniaturized jingle trucks as they are in an art category of their own.

Become intimate with these great art pieces. - 21396

The earliest hints of vehicular insurance com from ancient China, when the west was opening up to this far land.

Later, the concept of car insurance got a whole new twist. Policy makers from all over the world got together and decided that owning a vehicle and driving it on public roads (roads, in most parts of the world are considered to be the property of the public) was a privilege.

Policy makers in the US were strictly bent towards the idea that if you own a vehicle and drive it on public roads, you ought to have car insurance in order to prevent damage to any third parties. It was this thought process that made the ownership of car insurance mandatory in the US and in the rest of the world as well.

Policy makers from all over the world (especially those from the US) were bent on the fact that owning a vehicle and driving it on public property (roads are, by law, property of the public) is not a right, but a luxury and therefore, it became all the more important for car owners to get their vehicles insured. Car insurance was also deemed elementary to safeguard the interests of third parties who might get incur losses during an accident on the road.

Dr. Truman J martin, is said to be the father of car insurance policies in the US. His policy, written in 1898, was the first policy offering liability cover in the United States. This was, however, not the first time that an insurance policy offering liability cover had been rolled out. Three years before Truman had drafted his policy, an insurance company in England had already rolled out a car insurance policy offering liability cover, in 1895. - 21396
