5 Ways Japanese Used Cars Straight From Japan Will Help Your Wallet

By Clement Tourtet

If you're looking to purchase a used car, don't just head out to the nearest lot and try your luck. OK, then, you think how about looking online? It's true, the online market is great for cars, but again, many people tend to limit themselves to their local environs, missing out on great deals elsewhere.

We're here to suggest 5 reasons why you should look far away " as far as Japan! " when considering a used car.

#5: Japanese Take Extremely Good Care of Their Cars.

The Japanese are famous for the standards they hold to their cars, and as such it's really tough to located a used vehicle in bad shape in the country. For cultural reasons, the Japanese take great care of their used vehicles, and when you see Japanese used cars that are 20 years old, you'll be amazed.

#4: There Are No Terribly-Maintained Highways in Japan.

The condition of Japanese roads is also something to brag about, and the super-well-maintained highway system means that cars have led great lives on those streets, not getting damaged by bad maintenance. The idea of a car being banged up due to badly maintained roadwork isn't a typical one in Japan.

#3: The Japanese Government is Crazy About Checkups.

One of the main theories as to why Japanese cars are so nicely maintained is really due to the strict levels of standards the Japanese use for judging used vehicles. We're not only talking about pollution and air quality here, but just a general standard of maintenance after only 6 years of driving. Many customers just switch in their Japanese used cars and get new ones, leaving us with a strong and rich market.

#2: Shipping is Actually Pretty Simple.

Although it might sound expensive, there are container ships heading to ports near you extremely often. Exporters use a system called roll-on, roll-off shipping, which means the car rolls into the container, and rolls off once it arrives at its destination. Ordering and shipping a car from Japan isn't nearly as expensive as you might think.

#1: There Are Certain Japanese Editions That Have Never Hit Your Country.

The Japanese car manufacturers built plants in their market countries many years ago, so any Japanese used cars you might have bought in, say, America, were specifically built for the American market. Getting a car directly from Japan, however, means you're getting an exclusive Japanese model, often with features that were never available to you from a local dealership. - 21396

Choose Auto Bulbs For Your Vehicle

By David Ostiguy

We're pretty sure that you've seen the Chrome Bulbs that are added to some of the vehicles out there today. These are the bulbs that reflect what's around them in order to blend in with the rest of the lenses. If you've never seen them, you will. There are tons of car manufacturers that are currently installing these Chrome Bulbs and Clear Lenses to the blinkers of the vehicle. The only problem is that the manufacturers have been using those ugly yellow bulbs and installing them to the turn signals. So now they're using the clear lenses and installing ugly lights. It doesn't have to look like this.

Stealth Auto has invented Chrome Bulbs that are virtually invisible and blend in with any type of lenses you have on your turn signals. The best part of it is that they are 100% street legal. Once the blinker is activated, the bulb lights up yellow, but once it's shut off, it blends back into the lens.

Other competitors still have a hint of yellow in their bulbs. So if you ever wondered what Chrome Bulbs to buy, go for Stealth Auto Bulbs. We guarantee that you'll be happy with the stealth bulbs over anything else.

The best part of this modification is its simple and can be finished in less than an hour. You're car is going to look awesome. Add a HID Conversion kit and you're ride is going to look like it came from the future.

If you're adding new lights to a BMW, you will see that with the newer models has no wiring involved. It's as simple as taking the part off and snapping in the bulb. It doesn't get any easier than that. BMW's use something called a Lighting Control Module, also known as LCM, which controls all the lights on the car. The thing that makes it really cool is that the LCM is capable of sending signals to the lamps and lights. If the lights don't respond to the computer, the LCM will let the driver know that the light is faulty.

Whether you're installing lights in a Mercedes, Toyota or BMW you'll find every automobile accessory here. - 21396

Snow Tires or All Season Radials

By Brian Stevens

Driving through snow is not on anyone's list of fun things to do. It becomes even less enjoyable when you feel your tires quit on a particularly slippery patch.

When it comes to ensuring safe winter driving, you have two choices. Either you buy snow tires, or you go with all-season radials. Which one is the correct option depends entirely on the environment you drive in.

The difference between snow tires and all-season radials seems small at first glance, but it is crucial. The treads on a snow tire have treads that are widely spaced. Snow tires are specifically designed so these larger spaces allow the tire to dig into and grip the snow better than a regular tire or an all-season radial would. This is a good choice to go with if you live in an area that experiences regular heavy snowfall.

Since 2001, true snow tires have been manufactured with a special symbol. If you see a stylized picture of a mountain within a snowflake inside it, then you can rest easy knowing that the tire was designed to cope with harsh winter conditions. Snow tires also carry a mud and snow designation, abbreviated to M/S, M+S, or M&S. All-season radials also carry this designation.

The treads on all-season radials are spaced closer together than the ones on snow tires. Although they can't possibly match the snow traction of a tire specifically designed for winter conditions, they do provide a quieter ride.

It should be noted that heavier cars (and cars with front-wheel or all-wheel drive) usually handle snow better than lighter cars. If this description matches your vehicle and you live in an area that doesn't get a whole of snow, then all-season radials may be the way to go.

No matter what kind of tire you choose, two things are vitally important. First, make sure all four tires are of the same type. This will provide optimum traction and vehicle handling. Second, exercise caution when driving. This will help you stay safe regardless of the weather.

2009 Honda Fit Small Car Overview

By Andy Zain

In 2001 Honda introduced its Honda Fit. Sometimes called the Honda Jazz in certain parts of the world, it is primarily recognized as the Fit model in Japan, China and the United States. A Global Small Car Platform based vehicle, the 2009 Honda Fit is a subcompact with much to offer.

Honda's entry-level model is listed with an eye catching 27 miles per gallon highway rating. Impressive! Only in it's second generation, the Fit is pushing to the front of the pack and now faster then ever with it's all new look and feel. We sense other models are fast becoming jealous.

In 2008, the Fit seemed to be generating buzz everywhere online. Car enthusiasts and subcompact shoppers alike were eager for the unveiling of this much anticipated model. Well, we waited and we were given everything we had hoped for.

The interior has been expanded for comfort and the engine was given new life by adding on just a little more power. Also new for 2009 was a longer and wider body, but no one is complaining.

Those that once felt cramped in the back seat can now enjoy added leg room to relax. The same trick features can still be found however, like the ability to move the rear seating to that of a cargo type area.

The sweet little engine that we talked about prior is the 1. 5 liter 4 cylinder you will find sitting under the hood. Though its the same size as last years model, some changes were made for the better. A revamp of the iVTEC valve system was done to increase fuel economy. Regretfully, no added horsepower was seen.

You every day run of the mill safety features were not left out, included are anti lock brakes, front and side curtain airbags and head restraints. New this year is the stability control system that can be added to the Fit Sport Model. The downfall to this was that it only comes packaged with the optional navigation system, one of the only complaints this car has seen in review.

In closing, the 2009 Honda Fit appears to be an all in one package. Hopes of some added horsepower were disappointed this year but the future of the model is still looking bright. Those shopping for a smaller car with better gas mileage should do some research on this one, it is sure to be a perfect fit for almost any driver. At least go take a test drive to see just how sharp the handling is for yourself. - 21396
