Industries That Require Manufacturing Cleaning

By Frank McPelt

When talking about cleaning services, homes or commercial and business establishments like restaurants and offices easily come to mind. But in reality, cleaning services have a larger application, and that is what is known as manufacturing cleaning. It is basically a specialized cleaning service for customers such as original equipment manufacturers (OEM), aeronautics and defense product manufacturers and companies in the medical, transportation and food processing fields.

There are different manufacturing services available to clients. Some, like janitorial services, pest control and grounds maintenance, are common to all industries. It is more likely, however, that industrial companies will contract a cleaning service provider for particular cleaning and maintenance needs.

For example, cleaning and sanitation go hand in hand in the medical buildings, medical laboratories and health care facilities. Cleaning strategies should comply with industry cleaning and sanitation standards set for these areas. This includes disinfection of work surfaces and equipment, as well proper medical waste management.

Food processing is another industry where compliance with standards is a must. Cleaning strategies should help the client meet food safety requirements. Hydroblasting, CO2 cleaning and mold remediation are some of the techniques used to accomplish this.

The transportation industry clients include airports, train / railway stations, bus stations, ports and transportation manufacturers, such as car makers. Most clients use a cleaning company for facility maintenance. This includes exterior, interior, and equipment cleaning.

Transport manufacturers, such as car makers, on the other hand, have more specialized needs. This includes paint and coating systems management, filter management and coatings removal / paint stripping. For instance, a car manufacturer might contract a cleaning company to solve a problem with the cleaning and maintenance of its paint line system and components.

Aerospace and defense product manufacturing are high security and technical industries. But even these require reliable cleaning services for cleaning and maintenance of their facilities and equipment. With this, staff can concentrate on business without worrying about disruptions in their processes due to ill-maintained equipment or facilities that do not meet work environment and safety regulations.

For many customers, the selection of a cleaning company to entrust their requirements with is a major decision. The work is done on a large scale and is expected to help them in their compliance with industry standards and regulations. Companies should look for manufacturing cleaning providers with a good track record in their particular industry, as well as skilled staff and experience in designing custom cleaning strategies for their clients. - 21396
