Auto Dealership - Like Visiting Your Dentist

What makes going down to a Utah Scion dealership (or any dealership) to buy an automobile such a fearful thing for some of us? I can relate the typical car-buying fears to so many of us older people's fears of going to a dentist. Yes, I can.

The existence of dentistry has only been strictly official since around 1840 when the first dental school was created. That's only a little more than a century prior to when some of us middle-aged people first started accessing dental care in the 1950s. Back then, dentistry was still pretty crude. Dentists sometimes weren't very considerate in nullifying the pain of children-if the first dose of Novocain didn't do the trick-too bad for the child! So the dental-chair nervousness of some of us came from such painful experiences, and it persists to this day, in the total absence of current dental pain. Despite how frequently we remind ourselves that it won't hurt, we keep noticing our hands tightly clenched on dental-chair arms. (The next generation of dental customers, however, does not seem to have the same fears.)

It's much the same with car buying. In past decades, a lot of us have had financially and emotionally painful vehicle-buying experiences, very often due to our own lack of experience, lack of information available to us, and sometimes because of unscrupulous dealers. Some of us still fear each new interaction with dealers, even though there's no need for this anymore. Today, when walking into a Scion dealership in Utah, there's no need to experience auto-buying fears. In this day and age, all of us (young and old) have plenty of tools to bolster our confidence and increase our comfort with the process. It only takes time and some simple research. Numerous websites offer us any vehicle-buying information we could want, including: questions to ask sellers; pricing tips and numbers; Buyer's Guide stickers; 30-day-guarantee minimums and prevention of "buy-as-is" deals; where and how to get vehicle history reports; items for a mechanic to check; common vehicle-buying mistakes; getting promises and claims in writing; getting numerous price quotes; how to haggle; dealerships that don't require haggling; how to negotiate our service agreements and extended warrantees; where and how to learn financing options and best interest rates; where and how to get our credit scores and reports; and how to differentiate between the scrupulous and the scamming unscrupulous dealers.

And then, when we've accessed all of the above kinds of information we need for chasing away our fears, each Scion UT dealer has online information to help us assess their dealership individually for customer service, inventory, and pricing, etc. After we figure out what we want for generally what price, we'll be ready to visit any of the Scion dealers in Utah with confidence and know that we'll come away from the experience feeling positive and fearless. - 21396
