Why You Should Obey Traffic Law

By Tarek Aue

One of the main safeguards for legal drivers is the traffic law that is in every state and city. They are enforced to keep drivers and passengers, as well as motorcyclists and bicyclist, to keep everyone on the roads safe at all times. Not only is it law to follow these rules, it is also one of the smartest things you can do.

First of all you should go through state drivers handbook. You will get this booklet just before taking drivers test. You can refresh your memory by reading this book regarding traffic laws. You should follow sample tests for memorizing common rules.

The most common law that is broken by each and every driver, whether they get caught or not, is the speeding law. Speeding is breaking the law and if the driver is caught, they can be issued a warning or speeding ticket. If the driver was going over 20 miles an hour over the limit, their license can be suspended. In order to get them back, they will have to pay a hefty fine and probably go to traffic school. Every time a driver gets caught speeding, it adds points on their license. So many points and they will take away the license and the right to drive.

You should give attention to signs. Generally you're accustomed to your regular routes so that you just don't remember the traffic signs. When you fail to follow traffic signal instructions it can earn you a ticket. You should slow down as per the traffic signal and always give attention to speed limit. Get familiar to traffic signals. You must note others if they are driving erratically. Defensive driving is always recommended.

Use your common sense while driving. You should also convey this traffic laws to all pedestrians who don't obey these laws. Slow down your speed in the required condition. If you are planning to spend extra amount of time in different state then get brush of the laws of that state. Every state has its own particular traffic laws and you should familiar to those laws. Some states have vastly different laws. If you are not aware of the rules then you should drive slower than the normal speed. In this way you can drive safely. However you cannot drive slowly on highways as you will be ticketed.

There are laws in the way drivers drive, but there are also laws on the way they maintain their vehicles. All lights should be in working order, the windshield should not be broken and exhaust systems should be up to date and in working order. If the car only drives slow, the car should be kept in areas where the speed limit does not exceed the speed the car can be driven. For instance, older cars and trucks were not designed to go fast. Therefore, they should not be taken on the interstate.

The most serious violation of traffic laws is reckless and drunk driving, street racing or vehicular homicide. If you are a bike rider then it is more important for you to drive safely. You must make yourself more visible. You can also try purchasing additional safety equipments so that you can protect yourself. Helmet is mandatory if you're riding a bike. Traffic laws are only designed for your safety and you must obey them and set example for others to. - 21396
