Say Hello To The 2009 Chevy Aveo
The latest competitor in the subcompact car market from Chevrolet comes in the form of the 2009 Chevy Aveo. This model is slowly but surely winning over drivers who prefer larger vehicles, with its charm.
The Aveo comes in three models with the LT model seen as the deluxe of the three. All of them are hand gearshift models, but the LT offers a very fuel-efficient automatic transmission that makes for easy driving. Price wise Chevrolet is right on the money with these cars.
The main reason Americans are buying smaller cars is to save on rising fuel costs. Chevy Aveo designers have worked on the four cylinder engine and added variable valve timing to the already fuel efficient design. This addition gives you a lot more mileage than its predecessor did.
The automatic gear models prove even better regarding consuming fuel, as the hand gears sometimes cause unnecessary engine revs while the driver gets used to the longer gear shifts.
Chevrolet also worked on the overall safety aspects of the Aveo, as they know that huge a drawback in the small car market is the feeling drivers have that these cars will not protect them during an accident. They have introduced side placed airbags in the front of all their models and designed a nifty anti lock system for the breaks.
National highway traffic safety administration tests revealed the Aveo earned a five star level. In these crash tests this is the highest safety award a car can get for protecting the driver. Passenger's safety features earned four stars for the front passenger and three stars for passengers at the back during a side impact.
Available in two body styles namely a sedan model and a four door hatched back model, the Aveo appeals to most buyers. Seating five passengers with comfort, the redesigned interior impresses with standard features like the stereo AM/FM radio combination with separate auxiliary jack, wipers with intermittent settings, four speakers for great sound and OnStar in all models.
The more deluxe LT model boasts an improved nine speaker stereo CD player with optional keyless door access, satellite radio and electric windows / central locking to choose from.
The choice of cloth in the interiors give all the models a classy feel - a step up from the previous models that had a cheaper feel about them. Metal trim finishes and luxurious cloth choices set the LT model apart. As with all subcompacts the baggage storage area seems a bit small, but the LT offers quite an improved size.
The Aveo will suit city drivers very well as it guarantees a safe and economical way of commuting over short distances. - 21396
