Your Good Driving Habits Could Save You A Lot

By Adriana Noton

Everyone knows the frustration of being behind one of those drivers that are demonstrating some of the poorest driving habits on record. People on the road that are doing things they shouldn't while behind the wheel have many times caused accidents that have cost some people their life.

Law enforcement officials world wide have been in an uproar about those who would choose to talk on their cell phone while driving. There have been more accidents due to this nearly than those who are drinking alcohol while driving have caused. In many places it is now illegal to use a cell phone while driving.

Another cell phone issue that is one of the dumbest driving habits out there is trying to text while driving. Anyone who thinks this is a good idea needs to look ahead at that big truck they are about to ram in the back while texting. Texting takes your complete attention away from the road. This is one of the most deadly habits anyone could possibly have. Texting while operating a vehicle is also becoming an illegal offense.

Many car accidents are caused from someone following too closely behind anther driver. This is also considered one of the most irresponsible driving habits that you could have. You can never tell when the driver in front of you may have to come to a sudden stop.

Saving gas in your car can be done in a variety of ways. The most common waste of gas is speeding. Driving a car over the speed limit, or 60MPH, is the best way you can waste gas. If you stick to the speed limit, you will notice a significant savings in gas and you won't have to worry about those accidents that happen when you can slow down in time. Many people have died due to speeding in their cars or from someone else speeding.

Did you know that your motor idling during a traffic jam uses more gas too? Although this is sometimes an unavoidable situation, you can make sure to try and detour the places where you know for sure that traffic is going to be heavy. Saving on gas is one of the best driving habits you could have.

Don't you hate it when you are behind one of those drivers who suddenly decide to turn without ever having used a turning signal? This is certainly bad driving habits in practice and could cause a serious accident. If you are guilty of not using your turning signal when you plan to turn, make sure that start making it a habit.

How many people do you think would be alive today if they had remembered to put on their seat belt before they started out in their car? Do you think they just figured that they were just going a little ways down the road and they would be straight back home? This is why many have died due to not wearing their seat belts. Accidents can happen close to home in just the same way as if they do farther from home. - 21396
