Take Care Of Your Car: Utilise Car Wax Or Car Polish

By Helen King

All of us want a gleaming car, but ensuring proper maintenance of cars is not a simple thing. Both time and exertion are required to make your car appear as good as it was the day you bought it, to add to the car's life, or to even fetch a really good price when you sell it.

Usage over a period of time eventually causes the sheen of the car to be ruined due to stains, making it look ragged, particularly if the old coat of paint is getting discoloured. A comprehensive car care routine including car wash, waxing, and car polishing can restore the look of your vehicle.

The first step is to remove all the grime on the car by cleaning it with a good cleansing liquid and water, after which you need to apply either car wax or polish on the body. There is much confusion about car polishing and car waxing, and when they must be used. Being the owner of the car, it is necessary for you to have an idea of the type of makeover your car needs.

Car wax is a mixture of carnauba and other wax variants, which give the body a wet and sleek look. However, car waxes do not have abrasive compounds and so they cannot remove the more prominent stains. Moreover, they are not resistant to extreme heat.

However, car polishes have materials like Teflon, which make them stay for a longer period on your car, providing it a fresh appearance that stays forever. Polish is also more successful in hiding stubborn marks and scratches.

When you are polishing the blend edges, be sure to work away from the edge and never straightaway into it. The most advisable procedure for a blend edge is to hand glaze instead of machine polish. When you hand glaze, use a soft clean cloth.

As a thumb rule, if your car is constantly exposed to the daily grind on dusty roads, car polishing is the ideal solution. Car wax might give your car an external shine suitable for special occasions but not for daily use. You will have to identify what the needs of your car are after taking its build and your lifestyle into account, and based on these factors you can go for a makeover that revives the lustrous look of your car. - 21396
