Pondering On Honda Modesto Area Dealers And The Fact They Do So Well

The Honda Modesto area dealer experience -- and how that experience speaks to the wider Honda experience in this country -- is emblematic of the fact that if you offer an outstanding product and back it up with outstanding service, it's possible to make a profit and improve market share even in the worst of economic circumstances such as what the country has been experiencing over the last year.

In this country, Honda began selling vehicles through its dealers over 35 years ago. At that time it brought to our shores the very famous Honda Civic, which bears no resemblance -- other than name -- to the Civic that we know and love today, though both were and are superior in quality and have been greatly appreciated. Back then, it was also a vehicle that nicely answered the problem of increasing gasoline prices.

It seems like the blink of an eye, but Honda has steadily moved its operations and the dealership network that it has grown through the years to the point where it is able to generate a profit and even grow market share in one of the worst economic climates of the last 70 or 80 years. Today, many of its vehicles are among the top sellers and most popular in their segments.

Evidence of this abounds wherever one cares to look when dealing with Honda. For example, the company was able to put two of its vehicles into the top 10 overall sellers list during the "Cash for Clunkers" program run by the federal government to aid people in trading in their gas guzzlers for more fuel-efficient models. Great product and great dealers never go out of style, it seems.

Today, the company and its dealers have worked hard to make it profitable to sell cars and also to be able to gain market share in almost every segment. Of course, it helps when the cars that the dealers are selling are so outstanding, but the dealers themselves are also outstanding. That Honda builds many of its automobiles right here in this country may also be a big factor, for sure.

Honda has worked with its dealers closely over the years to develop a ladder of success that helps it and its dealers meet the customer satisfaction needs of the people who buy their vehicles and then become part of the Honda family. Strict guidelines for service and satisfaction abound throughout Honda and exterior networks, including those up in Modesto, as a matter of fact.

This is because Honda insists that its dealers and its own self look at each customer as being special and it also insists that looking at the car and the customer as one unit. Perhaps that explains why Honda consistently rates among the highest in terms of customer satisfaction and repeat business. Certainly, dealers up in Modesto realize this, as they continue to rank highly in satisfaction.

Examining the Honda Modesto dealership network, then, reveals that sticking to a business plan that emphasizes superior products and outstanding customer service and satisfaction programs can win out even in troubling economic circumstances.
