Vital information on tractor tyres

By Brian Kirkland

We all know that a tractor is made to give out a high traction with minimal speeds. This is down to the need of pulling large machines such as ploughs etc. Now that we have the basics out the way, lets move on to the tractor tyres.

The beauty is that there are numerous types of farm tyre available for use. Each of these different variations have their own unique charms and abilities. Gladly however, whatever job the tractor must do, be sure in knowing that there will be a tyre to help specifically for that job. Whatever the requirement, there will be a tractor tyre to fully meet the needs of the driver.

Before we proceed with a list of the most common types of these tyres, It is important to know the value of tyre pressure when driving a large tractor. Many experienced farmers will already know this but I am interested to know how many of you actually pay attention to this factor and put it into practice.

One of the most important reasons why you should always be concious of the tyre pressure is due to the fact if you get this part right you will easily get the most out of your tractor. That said, a tyre that has an incorrect tractor tyre pressure will always end up in a reduced performance from the vehicle in question.

One must understand that most tractor drivers dont actually pay any attention to tyre pressure, the thing is it will be these drivers who will end up paying over the odds for expenses such as petrol etc. With a low pressure you can lose around 40% of your engine force via slip resistance. An example of this is if you are behind the wheel of a 400 horse power tractor, you may only be getting around 200 horse power from a traction standpoint.

Here is a list of different types of cheap tractor tyres for sale

350 = These are used for spray and harvest jobs, a good overall tyre that can deal with many different farm jobs.

356 = Powerful tractors will use these, the design of these tyres allow them to have a low fuel consumption effect on the vehicle and also offer the tractor good grip.

THE 360 TYRE - These types of tractor tyre are still reletivly new, some of their capabilities are the fact that they can be usable at a low level of inflation. Not only that but the grip on these is amazing which has a design that actually allows the tyre to clean itself.

365 - These guys have been newly developed, small inflations with a large volume of tyreequates to incredible grip on almost any surface!

370 - These monsters are used for more modern tractors for heavy going jobs. They offer a huge load bearing capacity compared to most normal tractor tyres, they offer great soil and crop protection and will last for a very long time. Another important point is that you don't need to change the rim when swapping from a normal tyre to these guys. - 21396
